"Winter Festival" to kick off in Yerevan December 17

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS: "Winter Festival" will kick off in Yerevan December 17 organized by "Kanachastan" non-governmental organization with the support of the Armenian Economy Ministry. Director of "Kanachastan" organization Raffi Nizipilyan told Armenpress that the program of events has already been approved. The festival will be conducted until January 6, 2010. December 17 in "Arno Babajanyan" concert hall the official opening of the festival will take place.

FFA to hold workshops for school physical trainers

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) will hold a series of workshops for physical trainers of 900 Armenian schools, the FFA said on its website. FFA instructors will familiarize the trainers with “Football” manual and conduct practicals.

“Shadow” children film and photography contest festival

  /PanARMENIAN.Net/ “Shadow” film and photography contest festival has launched in Yerevan’s Mkitar Sebastatsi educational complex on Wednesday.

The festival features films and photographies, authored by Armenian school students. Later, the sale of art works featured will be organized.

Yerevan to host Ilon Wikland’s “Karlsson on the Roof is Flying Again” illustration exhibit

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Karlsson on the Roof is Flying Again , the first exhibition devoted exclusively to the drawings of Ilon Wikland, will be on view at the Children’s Art Gallery of Armenia from November 19 through December 3, 2010.  The Exhibition is organized by the Swedish EU Presidency in cooperation with the Consulate of Estonia, Junior Achievement of Armenia and Oriflame of Armenia.   

"Physics Problem Book" by O. Ya. Savchenko

There is hardly any physics fan in the world who hasn't ever heard about the "Physics Problem Book" edited by O. Savchenko. The project was sponsored by Ayb Educational Foundation, owner of the rights to translating and publishing the book, and now the renowned problem book is available also in Armenian. The book is translated with the efforts of physicists – Gagik Grigoryan, head of the Ayb subject group, Candidate of PhysMath Sciences, Senior Scientist at Yerevan Physics Institute; associate professors Eyler Youzbashyan and Jirayr Ninoyan, Candidates of PhysMath Sciences.

Armenia to hold Youth Boxing Championship Nov. 27

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Armenian Youth Boxing Championship will be held in Yerevan on November 27. As a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter came to know from chief coach of the Armenian youth team Fedya Aleksanyan, some 100-120 boxers from all regions of the republic will be participating.
The best boxers will be included in the national team which will train for European Championship 2010.

Shooting Championship starts November 13 in Armenia
